"Make Us One" - Guest Post from Chris Quilala

Chris Quilala shares the story behind Jesus Culture's newest single, "Make Us One" in this guest post.  Their new album Love Has a Name releases next Friday, August 11. If you’ve been on social media at all in the past year, you’ve seen that there’s a lot of division and strife in the world, and it seems like the church is not exempt from that. We’ve been going through a season of turmoil and chaos in our nation and around the world, so we wanted to write the song, “Make Us One” as a prayer for the Lord to unite His body. The church should be exemplifying unity and love for each other despite any differences we may have. Colossians 3:12 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. That is the heart of “Make Us One,” that we would come together in love and unity and lay down offenses and walls that separate us. That the Lord would be the true head of His body. I believe when the church is unified and full of love and forgiveness, something powerful will happen among us. -Chris Quilala
