Importing Content

Content purchased from MultiTracks.com is available in Playback as soon as you login. Every MultiTrack purchased from MultiTracks.com will show up in the app with Song Sections that you can edit and loop (Pro Subscription required). CustomMixes created on MultiTracks.com are also available in app with Song Sections. Free ClickTracks are included in app in various time signatures and tempos. If you want to upload your own content into Playback you can do so with a MultiTracks Cloud™ subscription.

Dynamic Guide Cues

Dynamic Guide Cues automatically re-populate guide cues if you edit your arrangement or loop live. This way the guide cue automatically reflects the section you’re going into. This helps keep your band in sync and together at all times. Dynamic Guide Cues are currently only available on MultiTracks not CustomMixes.

Tempo Display

This is where the time signature and tempo of the song are displayed. In the example, the tempo is 132 BPM and the time signature is 4/4

Counter

The larger numbers display the current cursor time and the total length of the song. The smaller numbers display the start and end times for the song. Tap the Counter to save new start and end times for each song.

Return to Start Position

This button will stop the song and take you back to the beginning of the song, or the start point you've designated.

PlayState

Toggle between Play and Pause.

AutoFade

Select to fade out all tracks except Click and Guide.

Edit Mode/Add a Song

When Edit Mode is enabled, you can add, delete, or change the order of the songs in your playlist. You can also delete or set a song section to loop a certain number of times. Guide Cues will re-populate dynamically once you edit a song section. For Premium users, tapping the bus name in EDIT mode will let you set a Bus to your Output Routings (this setting is Global). (Feature of Pro & Premium Upgrade)

Adjust Song Order

When in Edit Mode, press and hold on a song tile and drag and drop to easily adjust the song order.

Settings

Tap the gear icon to access Settings. There you'll find Playback’s Manual, the ability to log out and contact support on the About tab. For Premium Users, Bus Configurations can be adjusted in Settings.

AutoPan

Enable AutoPan in Settings to pan the ClickTrack and Guide to the left and all other tracks to the right. CustomMixes are pre-rendered this way, but you must choose AutoPan to separate the ClickTrack and Guide for MultiTracks in live performance. AutoPan is only necessary when using two outputs.

SmartRouting

Under Settings>Tracks you can see every potential track type from our database. With SmartRouting we’ve pre-routed each track to a bus based on what type of track it is with. This pre-routing we refer to as SmartRouting. You can change these routings at any point under the Tracks tab in Settings. “Reset Default Settings” will return to the default routings. (Feature of Premium Upgrade)

Routing to Outputs

Using a USB Audio Interface you can route Buses to separate outputs. With SmartRouting, we’ve pre-routed every bus based on the outputs on your device. Under Settings>Buses you can adjust your Bus to Output routings at any time. Changes to Output settings are saved for each interface and will appear when you plug-in that same device again. If you want to return to the presets, tap “Reset Default Settings.” (Feature of Premium Upgrade)

MultiOuts

Using a compatible USB Interface, you can send MultiOuts from your iPhone or iPad to your SoundBoard. For a list of compatible devices click here. (Feature of Premium Upgrade)

AutoLink Songs

When this feature is enabled, Playback will automatically advance to and play the next song. If you don’t enable AutoLink, the app will advance to the next song in your Playlist, but you’ll have to press play to begin each song.

Playlist

This area displays your playlist of songs you’ve loaded in the app. The green play icon indicates the current song.

Waveform

Displays a rendered waveform of the tracks for the song. The fixed red line indicates current PlayPoint.

Song Sections

Abbreviated circular icons are used to indicate the different sections of a song. When a song is paused, you can double tap anywhere in a song section to move the beginning of that section to the PlayPoint.

Mixer

Slide the mixer to the right to view all tracks.

Track Name/Mute

Track names are listed below each fader. Touch the track name to mute or unmute each track.

Solo

Select the "S" above each level meter to solo a track. Solo can only be enabled on one track at a time.

Buses

Pressing the Buses button will show the Bus faders. On the iPhone you’ll need to be in the Mixer View to see Bus Faders. Routing Bus Outputs and Soloing Buses are global features that will carry over from one song to the next. Volume levels and muting tracks are NOT global settings and are remembered for each song. Buses are enabled by default for Premium users and can be disabled in Settings>Buses. (Feature of Premium Upgrade)

Bus Names

We’ve given each bus a name which you can change by swiping left on the name and tapping EDIT in the Buses page in Settings. (Feature of Premium Upgrade)

Control via MIDI

You can connect a MIDI Controller to your iPad or iPhone using Apple’s USB Camera Connection Kit (for 30 Pin) and Apple’s Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (for Lightning). When MIDI Mode is enabled, any component of the app that is highlighted in blue can be assigned to a key, knob, fader or button on a MIDI Controller. (Feature of Pro & Premium Upgrade)

Loop

When Live Loop is activated, Playback will loop the current song section in real-time.Assigning this button to a MIDI device will allow you to trigger this function live without touching your iPad or iPhone. (Feature of Pro & Premium Upgrade)

Infinite Loop

Infinite Loop allows you to infinitely loop a song section until you deactivate the feature. This is a great way to loop during a song freely without needing to plan a set amount of repeats ahead of time. You can enable Infinite Loop live by tapping the Infinite Loop button on the device, MIDI assigning the button, or pre-program a section to infinite loop in EDIT mode. (Feature of Pro & Premium Upgrade)

Master Level

This controls the overall level of all your tracks. This control is not tied to the master volume of your iPad or iPhone so it functions more like a master bus.
