Lyrics

Verse 1

In my mother’s womb
You formed me with Your hands
Known and loved by You
Before I took a breath

Pre Chorus 1

When I doubt it Lord remind me
I’m wonderfully made
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay

Chorus

You make all things work together
For my future and for my good
You make all things work together
For Your glory and for Your name

Verse 2

There’s a healing light
Just beyond the clouds
Though I’ve walked through fire
I see clearly now

Pre Chorus 2

I know nothing has been wasted
No failure or mistake
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay

Chorus

You make all things work together
For my future and for my good
You make all things work together
For Your glory and for Your name

Pre Chorus 1

When I doubt it Lord remind me
I’m wonderfully made
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay

Pre Chorus 2

I know nothing has been wasted
No failure or mistake
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay

Chorus

You make all things work together
For my future and for my good
You make all things work together
For Your glory and for Your name

Refrain

You're not finished with me
You're not finished with me yet
You're not finished with me no
You're not finished with me yet

Pre Chorus 2

I know nothing has been wasted
No failure or mistake
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay

Pat Barrett | "Canvas & Clay (Radio Version)"

“'Canvas and Clay' is about trusting the process of formation in our lives. I love the picture of God being a master artist. It makes verses like in Romans 8 'He makes all things work together'—so dynamic. He uses every aspect of our lives and He doesn’t do waste. Jesus didn’t invite people into a quick, easy transformation. There are times when it feels like two steps forward and one step back, and it’s in those moments that we get to remember that He is still forming us even today. We get to grow in love, kindness, forgiveness, goodness, self-control, and more. I hope that this song helps people along in that journey," shares Pat Barrett.
