|Southville Music is a project run from Yeovil's Southville Elim Church, which aims to reach a global audience with faith encouraging songs and videos. Their newest single, "Changing Seasons," is a celebration of how faith equips people to deal with a constantly changing world.
A chart-topping church from Somerset is returning in 2020 with four new singles which it hopes will offer a ‘window on heaven’.
Back in 2017, Southville Music had unexpected success when it became the first artist to have consecutive number one singles in the aStepFWD’s UK Christian Chart Top 10. Lyrics and music for ‘Freedom’s Tree’ were written by a group of more than 20 people from Somerset’s Southville Church with ages ranging from 13 to 96.
The success of the first album led to a tour throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, festival invites and the release of new music in 2018.
Now, Southville Music is returning with plans to release four singles this year with a fresh young team of singers and musicians performing on the tracks and featuring in the footage. The first of the brand-new tracks is called “Changing Seasons."
Howard Davenport, Pastor at Southville says, “When we write each song, our aim is to open up a 'window on heaven.' The Bible says that we were created to Worship God and that when we do, the pieces of this beautiful yet broken world fall into place. At Southville Music, we want to be part of that process and so that’s why we write songs and make videos, so that people can get a glimpse of heaven and begin to worship the God who treasures them.”
