New album from Covenant Worship featuring Israel Houghton

CATEGORIES: News, Home Page, New Releases
Covenant Worship's brand new release, Kingdom, is a live worship album and features Covenant Church's Choir and Worship Team, led by worship pastors, David and Nicole Binion.  Worship leaders Joshua Defrene and Colin Edge also lend to the project alongside five-time GRAMMY award winner Israel Houghton who brings his voice, songwriting, and producing skills to this worshipful collaboration. The inspiration for the album was the desire for a "kingdom renaissance," that would flow out from their church and affect the nations.  "It's that very word - 'renaissance' - that jumps inside us," the worship team says, referring to the way the Renaissance helped shift a culture from the old world into the new.  "New songs were unleashed, and our church is now being taken to an exciting new place in our worship.  The result is a collection of songs that aim to take the people of God to a new mindset, a new place as the body of Christ." Kingdom exhibits this theme of renaissance with each track.  "Risen" is a high energy song that is sure to get your congregation moving with it's infectious beat and synths, celebrating the resurrection as they proclaim, "Risen, He is Risen.  Forever glorifed.  Risen, He is Risen.  King Jesus, King Jesus is alive!"  "Can't Stop Singing" dwells upon the fact that Jesus is and will always be more than enough for us.  It's upbeat and engaging as it rejoices, "Now I sing the song angels cannot sing.  I have been reborn, I have been redeemed!  And I can't stop singing about your love!"  "Here Waiting" takes on a more contemplative tone, inviting God to come closer as we clear ourselves of all distractions and simply wait on Him.  The song holds a certain anticipation, reflected both in the vocals and the movement of the instrumental lines, and offers great opportunity for improvisation.   The ballads, "First Loved Me" and "Let The Name of Jesus Reign," are prayerful and full of devotion.  We encourage you to check out this fantastic new project from Covenant Worship and all the MultiTrack resources are now available!
