Tuesday, December 22, 2015 Chicago-based couple Jon and Valerie Guerra have released a new full-length Christmas album called It's Almost Christmas. In November 2011, the couple recorded an EP and posted it online in order to raise funds to purchase Christmas gifts for family and friends. Their music was so well received, they continued with the tradition writing new songs each year. It's Almost Christmas is the culmination of their collaboration, featuring a mix of classic arrangements and original compositions perfect for the holidays. Valerie speaks of the album, recorded in their Chicago apartment, "The project took on a life of its own, and it's literally been me, Jon and a couple of close friends - no session players or producers - which adds to the sentimental, homespun feeling." Jon adds, "We're not trying to make new Christmas music… we're trying to make something that makes Christmas music feel new."
