John Van Deusen is a shape-shifting songwriter known for emotionally raw, hook-filled indie rock. A veteran of the DIY scene in Anacortes, WA, his music blends vulnerability, faith, and mental health themes with restless sonic exploration. From fronting the NPR-acclaimed band The Lonely Forest to playing in the hardcore punk group Buffet (praised by Maximum Rocknroll), and even collaborating on an ambient album with Christian music pioneer Jeff Johnson, Van Deusen refuses to be boxed in.
