New MultiTracks from Steven Curtis Chapman - Worship and Believe

CATEGORIES: News, Home Page, New Releases
Multi-platinum selling and five-time GRAMMY® award winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman has just released Worship and Believe, his first worship album in his three decade-long career.  With this new release, Steven has created more vertically-focused worship songs spurred on by a soul awakening to worship music he experienced as he held fast to songs of the church through a season of loss.  He shares, "I always loved singing worship songs and people responded when I’d sing them during shows. They were what I held on to so tightly when we lost our daughter Maria, but the timing was never right for me to make a full record of them.”  Steven was inspired to begin this new project upon hearing of a 30-day church curriculum by Oak Hills Church pastor Randy Frazee entitled BELIEVE.  “As Randy talked about how important it is for us as the Church to know what we believe and why," he comments, "I began to get excited thinking, ‘I want to write those songs, create those musical declarations that we as the church can sing together.’”   Worship and Believe contains 11 new songs, including a number co-written with prominent worship leaders Matt Maher, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, and Rend Collective.  The album's first single, "Amen" is a declarative response to God's promises and was the most added song at radio its first week of release. Full of driving energy, it encourages us to have full confidence that all He tells us is true, "You say we are loved, you say we belong to you.  Your grace is enough.  Nothing more that we can do.  You say we've been bought by your blood, by your blood.  And all that we can say is Amen!"  Chris Tomlin joins Steven to lead "One True God," a powerful anthem that acknowledges Jesus' awesome might and power.  Praising His sovereignty, mercy, and love, it emphasizes His glory and proclaims that none can compare to Him, "You are The one alone in greatness. The one who never changes. Jesus You are! The One who rose in power, the One who reigns forever. Jesus the one true God!"  "Hallelujah, You Are Good" is a tender ballad that praises God's goodness in all circumstances.  It's a heart's cry of our faith in times of struggle when we need Him most, "And with faith gives way to fear, I will trust your heart, I will trust your heart.  When I cannot feel you near, I will trust your heart, I will trust Your heart." “These songs have come out of my own journey, particularly of the last seven years of learning the life-giving power of hearing my own voice and the voice of other believers around me declare what is most true and most real,” Steven says. “What God says is true — even when pain, doubt, grief and confusion are very real as well. There’s an incredible power in agreeing with each other, and especially with God.” Worship and Believe is both a call to and celebration of unity, as Christians rally around who and what we worship and believe, declaring it together, as one body.
