Harvest Bible Chapel's Vertical Church Band has just released Church Songs, an album that was created with the global church in mind. The band's hope was to write a set of songs that could be sung by the church as an offering of worship and praise and that through these songs, God would meet His people.
"Spirit of the Living God" starts softly, expressing a desire for to God to move and an openness to be changed by our encounter with Him. It builds in intensity and worship, professing that "When You speak, when You move, when You do what only You can do, it changes us, it changes what we see and what we seek." Presenting the message of the Gospel, "Lamb of God" praises Jesus and testifies of the great love He showed us through his sacrifice on the cross: "The Lamb of God in my place. Your blood poured out, my sin erased. It was my death You died. I am raised to life. Hallelujah the Lamb of God." With the melody of the verses adapted from the classic folk song, "The Water Is Wide," "Restore My Soul" offers up an intimate prayer to the Savior. The message is one of repentance and restoration as the worshiper returns to the cross, singing, "At the cross I'll find the way to live the life Your hand has made. So find me there, Lord, and help me stay in true surrender with You, my Savior." Church Songs has much to offer, from songs of celebration to adoration, all born from the desire to see people's lives changed by the truth of Christ.
