This week, we are excited to feature Shine, the latest release from Orlando-based worship leader and Christian recording artist Dominick Shaw as our Indie Showcase. Dominick's passion and purpose is to use every gift that God has given him to magnify the Lord and to create an atmosphere for God’s presence to save, deliver, restore and heal while empowering others to do the same. He found his inspiration for this latest project during a trip to Malaga, Spain when he had the opportunity to be with leaders from over 14 different Western European countries. God impressed upon him just how much He loves every nation and desires every person to know His presence and power. With a bold Gospel sound, Shine encourages believers to let their lives be a reflection of Jesus to show to all the world.
Dominick shares, "Jesus said His followers are “the light of the world” (Matt. 5:14). John, the disciple, wrote that Christ the true light “shines in the darkness” (John 1:5). So too, Jesus invites us to reflect our light into the darkness around us: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:16). That is a call for us to show love in the face of hatred, patience in response to trouble, and peace in moments of conflict. As the apostle Paul reminds us, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Eph. 5:8)."
The album's title track, "Shine" emphasizes this theme as it acknowledges that Jesus is what this world truly needs. It asks Him to shine His light in our lives, our communities and all the nations, singing, "Shine Your light, let the whole world see it. Shine Your light so the world will know who You are. You are the hope, the hope that we need. You are the cure for all disease. Won't You shine." "Unstoppable" is a joyful anthem that declares God's greatness, proclaiming that there is none stronger, wiser, or greater than Him and through Him, all things are possible. Dominick cites Romans 11:36 which says, “There is no power, no force, no purpose, no being that is able to stand up to the wisdom, the power or the glory of our God. All things revolve around Him.”
"Home" gives a powerful testimony to the incredible grace of God. Featuring guest artist Ron Kenoly, the song shows that it doesn't matter what we have done, God still calls us back to Him. The song reverently offers everything that we are as we seek restoration and healing, "Lord, I'm running to You. You are all I need. Lord, I surrender my all. In You, I find my peace. No matter what I've done or how far away I run, Your grace will find a way to bring me home."
