Take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not what I will but what You will.' The cup was the wrath of God that we deserve for our sin. Jesus knew that he would take that wrath on the cross, but Jesus submitted to His Father’s will and drank that cup for all people on the cross. Praise God that the cup was not removed! We wrote this song celebrating what Jesus has done for us. He drank the cup of God’s wrath we deserved on the cross. He fulfilled all of the law and prophets, living a blameless life, giving us his righteousness and because of these things now by faith, He has removed our transgressions as far as the east is from the west. The Cup Was Not Removed. The Law was not removed, but our sins are removed. The only response to this good news is to praise Him!"
