New Release from North Point Music: Beginnings

CATEGORIES: News, Home Page, New Releases
Atlanta-based North Point Music's latest project, Beginnings, is a two-disc compilation that features the best worship from North Point's popular worship albums and artists, designed to bring together fan favorites from both the past and the present. Director of the North Point Music label and Publishing, Matt Williams, remarks, “In one sense, Beginnings is a look back at where we’ve been and, in another, it is the beginning of some exciting new music. This album, unlike any other previous North Point release, really captures the best of what was and what’s next.” The first disc, titled "Then" features music from the North Point live releases while the second disc, "Now," introduces nine re-recordings of both established North Point songs as well as new versions of more recent favorites.  The upbeat praise anthem, "Marvelous," expresses God's awesomeness with great drive and energy.  Worship leader, Casey Darnell writes on his blog, "At the core, it’s a song of gratefulness and sets the foundation of “Why” we sing… kickin off a time of worship in praise for all God has done."  "When The Waters Rise" gives a moving testimony of God's faithfulness in the midst of our trials.  The chorus declares, "When the waters rise around me I am safe. In the valley Lord, You are near always. You have me surrounded by your grace. When my strength is gone, I wont be afraid. You are with me always." "Shine Like Stars" was originally written for "Be Rich," North Point Community Church's annual giving and serving campaign.  Inspired by Philippians 2:15, the song encourages us to bring God's love, hope, and compassion to a darkened world for when we do, people will see His light reflected through us.  The chorus states, "Wherever we are, We shine like stars. Wherever we go, We will take your heart, carrying freedom, bringing your kingdom to all the world. Cause when we love one another, we light up the dark. Wherever we are, we will shine like stars."  With songs led by artists such as Casey Darnell, Eddie Kirkland, Lauren Daigle, and Steve Fee, Beginnings will resound with congregations everywhere.
