Little Songs is the debut album from singer/songwriter and Vertical Church Band worship leader, Jon Guerra.  This new release is filled with authenticity, reflection, and a great passion for worship.  “The most personal songs are the most worshipful," Guerra says. "For this record, that’s just where it went.  All of these 11 songs are my best effort at being a songwriter, at pleasing God, at giving something that I think is going to be useful to my friends and family in their journey of faith, and something that will be useful to churches on a Sunday morning as they’re trying to engage with God as a faith community.”   Little Songs mixes a variety of styles, from soft acoustic to upbeat pop, each song filled with the truths of Christ.   "Bound For Glory" is a rousing hymnlike anthem that joyfully expresses the fact that this world is not our home.  It's catchy and full of excitement, praising the moment when we will stand before Jesus and boldly testifying, "I am free because I’m bound. I am bound for heavens gate where my feet will stand on holy ground. I am bound for glory."  "Stained Glass" examines how God looks past our mistakes and our shame and makes something beautiful out of all of our brokenness.  The chorus says, "Show me what You see when You look at me.  Show me what is real more than what I feel. We have stains, it's true but when Your light shines through, we all look like stained glass windows to You."  Painting a tender picture of His love and grace, "Ever Chasing God" is a beautiful ballad that speaks of the way God is always there, always pursuing us, "Seeker when I wasn’t sought, Redeemer, by Your blood, I’m bought. By Your grace, I’m made what I’m not, my unrelenting, ever creating, my ever chasing God." Guerra shares, “My general goal is the ministry of art, if that’s possible. For a long time, art and ministry have been at odds, but I don’t think that needs to be the case. I think artists can love their neighbor as they love themselves, while keeping their finger on the pulse of what makes a good song and what makes good art. Hopefully I can say beautiful things, sing beautifully and then let the beauty do its work.” Little Songs - Jon Guerra
