CATEGORIES: News, Home Page, New Releases
Breakout Contemporary Christian/Country band We The Kingdom has released their sophomore single “Don’t Tread On Me.” Producer and band member Ed Cash shares, “It’s one of those songs, that for us, is just a powerful thing to proclaim. We’ve been given authority over the kingdom of darkness by Jesus. When we come together and we proclaim that, it is really powerful!” The explosive track highlights the band’s grit while simultaneously complementing the harmonious vocals of the multigenerational group. With “Don’t Tread On Me,” the emerging group proves to be an undying source of light as they uplift listeners with their music and unique journey. The single release comes on the heels of We The Kingdom’s soulful church sessions version of their smash hit “Holy Water” featuring Grammy-Award winning artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard. “HolyWater” spent 5 consecutive weeks at no. 1 on the Billboard Christian AC chart, while also racking up nearly 44 million global streams. The track can be heard spinning on prominent official Spotify playlists including Top Christian, New & Bold, Christian Hits, Songs of Glory as well as Country Hits, which lists “Holy Water” as the no. 3 song. In addition to a live performance video, which has accumulated over 6.2M views on YouTube, the band performed the track for Chris Tomlin’s Good Friday Worldwide event for over 5 million viewers in 32 nations. Country music stars Dolly Parton and Thomas Rhett have both expressed support for the song. Earlier this year, We The Kingdom provided direct support to Grammy-Award winner Zach Williams on the nationwide “Rescue Story Tour.” The band plans to resume their touring schedule this fall. In the meantime, they can also be heard as featured artists on multiple tracks on Bethel Music’s latest album, Peace.
