Indie Showcase: "Christ Be Glorified" by BridgeCity

CATEGORIES: News, Home Page, New Releases
Last week, BridgeCity debuted their sophomore release, Christ Be Glorified, which was recorded at City Bible Church's annual youth conference called "Generation Unleashed." "We are excited to release our new album, Christ Be Glorified," said Isaac Tarter of BridgeCity. "We navigated through uncharted territory throughout the songwriting and recording process of this project. It became clear as we overcame some of the challenges and obstacles that the message and heart of this project was all about one thing - let Christ be glorified." Blending a variety of sounds and styles, the album does that very thing.  The title track, "Christ Be Glorified," has the structure and feel of a classic hymn.  It opens up light and acoustic and continues to builds as it issues forth praises to our Savior, "Oh praise the one who gives us life. Praise the name of Jesus Christ. Forever we will lift you high, let Christ be glorified."  "Light A Fire" has more of an alternative, rocky sound and exhibits a longing for the presence of God and the Holy Spirit to fill us with new life.  "How We Need You Father" is a tender and moving song of surrender that expresses a desperation for God and a desire to see His kingdom come to earth.  Acknowledging that we can't do things without Him, the bridge states, "Come and take over.  Take the reigns from my hands. Come and take over, I'm surrendered to your plan."  The song wraps up with the words from the Lord's Prayer, "Let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven" before segueing into a time of spontaneous worship.
