Last summer, All Sons & Daughters took a trip to Europe to trace the lives of a number of Christ followers who have greatly impacted believers throughout history. Their new project, Poets & Saints, was born out of this journey and has now been released along with a companion book penned by their pastor, Jamie George, containing video curriculum and a small group study guide. Worship leader Leslie Jordan remarks, "The more we uncovered the truth about their lives and how they communicated with God, the more important it became to us to show how they're still influencing our lives today. We believe God is transcendent in His nature... so He takes something that is ancient and plants it in the present to wake us up." The duo previously released four tracks from Poets & Saints, "I Surrender," "This My Inheritance," "Rest In You," and "You Hold It All Together," and now we are excited to let you know that MultiTracks for two additional songs are now available in our catalog.
"Heaven Meets Earth" is a beautiful anthem that walks through God's creation, marveling at His glory and exalting Him as it segues into the classic hymn, "Holy Holy Holy." The song is full of reverent worship, utilizing ambient atmospheres and a rich backing choir. "I Wait" was inspired by Scottish author, poet, and minister George McDonald. Leslie shares, "He wasn't a prolific writer and he didn't get to see the significance of his life, but he made a tremendous impact." The song encourages us to wait for God, knowing that His promises are true and His love never fails. Full of encouragement and hope, it declares, "So I want in the promise, I wait in the hope, yes I wait in the power of God's unending love."
The companion book examines the lives of each of the men and women who inspired each of the songs on the album with the video curriculum and small group study guide digging even deeper, encouraging participants to examine their own spiritual journeys. "Our hope is that in this music, book and curriculum, people will find connection, with one another and connection with God," they share. "A place of vulnerability and discovery where there is freedom and forgiveness... conversations that generate spiritual health, a ripple effect that changes people's lives."
