In this album, Lincoln has pushed the edge a little further, experimenting with new sounds and styles. The overriding theme is one of an increased sense of trust in God and His word as well as an increased sense of gratitude. Lincoln explains that he wanted the songs to be full of honest and true things, effective for encouraging people in tough places. The title track, "Oxygen," expresses that we don't just need God like we do oxygen; we need Him more! He is our greatest need even over the very life He gives us. "On Our Side" is a firm declaration that "We believe God is on our side, now and forever," giving us hope and strength in our surrender.
