Keith and Kristyn Getty have reinvented the traditional hymn form, creating songs that cross musical genres and have ministered to millions around the world. "In Christ Alone," which is one of the Gettys' best known hymns and was penned by Keith and long-time writing partner Stuart Townend, is estimated to be sung by 40-50 million people in churches across the globe each year and has been covered by numerous artists from Passion's Kristian Stanfill to Kings Kaleidoscope. Today the Gettys are celebrating the release of their new album, Facing a Task Unfinished, which calls believers to missional action. It features an array of global musical styles and includes guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Fernando Ortega, John Patitucci, Chris Tomlin, and other artists from all around the world. On February 21, 2016, Keith and Kristyn partnered with OMF International in organizing a global hymn sing of "Facing a Task Unfinished." An estimated 1.1 million people in 5,400 churches across 100 countries participated, singing the song in their native languages.  The song was originally penned by China Inland Mission worker, Frank Houghton in 1931 at a time when Christians were facing great persecution in China. Despite the risks, CIM leaders felt God leading them to send additional missionaries to the country and the church in China has grown as a result of their faithfulness. Keith and Kristyn write, "We are delighted to introduce this missions hymn to a new generation with the prayer it will be an anthem for rising up to face the unfinished task and going to all the world to proclaim salvation in Jesus’ name."  The song recognizes those who gave their lives advancing the message of Christ and it boldly proclaims, "We go to all the world with kingdom hope unfurled. No other name has power to save but Jesus Christ The Lord." "May the Peoples Praise You" was inspired by Psalm 67 and calls believers to worship and mission, uniting all the nations in praise of our Savior, "May the peoples praise You. Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus." "The Lord is My Salvation" testifies of Jesus' saving grace and praises Him for His faithfulness as it professes the hope we have in Him, "Who is like the Lord our God? Strong to save, faithful in love. My debt is paid and the vict’ry won, the Lord is my salvation."  Keith and Kristyn share, "Our witness, at the simplest level, is telling another person what Christ has done for us. Singing songs of faith helps build our confidence in the God who calls us to serve, with both our words and our lives.” We encourage you to check out Facing a Task Unfinished in its entirety.  It is now available worldwide - download your copy today from iTunes!
